I'm pretty sure I promised not to spam you all, and the fact that you haven't heard from me since my last release in November should be a pretty good sign that I speak the truth. Honestly, I had a newsletter written up for December. I was being all good and following the guidelines that newsletters should be sent out monthly; then I clicked on one button, the email disappeared, and...6 months blinked by.

Sorry, not sorry. The truth is, I think most of us have enough noise in our lives these days. I know I do. So, if you don't hear from me very often between releases, just know I'm over here working on things, making sure that when I do send a missive your direction it will be because I have something to say. If you're curious about the writing process for this book, I've been working on the series for longer than I'd care to admit and have always been curious about what happened before the story. Unlike the rest of the series, which is a portal fantasy series that alternates between our world (focusing on places I've lived: the mountains of Northern California The Darkening Dragons, Hong Kong Peak Dragon Uprising, and the Czech Republic Bohemian Dragon Awakening releasing August 2024) and the fantasy world of Aristonia, The Dawn of the Darkening is set only in Aristonia...although there might be a cameo of a certain truck driver, along with some fun Easter Eggs from my Mommy Writers group! I drafted the story over the course of two weeks in November, edited it and sent it to beta readers in March, sent it to my editor in April, and now I'm ready to share the shiny polished version with the world.

That's pretty much all I've got for you right now, but keep your eyes open for the final book in the series coming this summer. I'm already working on formatting and hoping I'll have a cover and more details soon.
