,
Congratulations! I've chosen you as a beta reader for Bared Magic. Thank you for applying.
Don't delete this; it's the big email with all the improtant info in it.
Please get feedback to me by the end of the night on October 1. That gives you one month. I'll keep in touch with you once a week between now and then.
IMPORTANT LINKS:
WHICH VERSION SHOLUD YOU CHOOSE, AND HOW WILL YOU KEEP TRACK OF FEEDBACK AS YOU READ?
Ebook:
- If you want a digital reading experience on a handheld device, download the ebook and read it on your e-reader, tablet, or phone.
- In the ebook, you can highlight and type notes. Later you can pull up your notes and highlights and send them to me.
- If you want to take notes on a Kindle and send the notes to me, you'll need to follow special book-download instructions. Please click this link before downloading, so you don't end up with a Kindle full of notes you can't export. carolbethanderson.com/how-to-take-and-export-kindle-notes/
PDF:
- If you plan to read on your computer this is a good option.
Word/Google Docs:
- If you prefer to read in Microsoft Word or Google Docs so you can leave comments in the document itself, just email me.
- Note, I personally don't recommend this but I will provide it in this format if it is your preference.
Keep the book confidential, no matetr what form you read it in.
HOW/WHEN TO GIVE FEEDBACK
You can give feedback in chunks as you read or all at once at the end. Please feel free to email me with feedback at any time. For reference, my email is [email protected]
I've also made a feedback form with suggested questions. Which you can find here. It covers specific areas where I'm looking for guidance, so I'd love for you to fill it out, even if you're providing feedback in another format too.
Please review the form before you start the book. It will help guide your critical mind as you read.
Remember the dealine, Friday October 1st.
FEEDBACK GUIDELINES
- I welcome both positive feedback and constructive criticism.
- Be specific. Please provide several words from the book when giving feedback on a specific passage. This will allow me to search my manuscript for those words.
- Content or grammar? I'm really looking more for content feedback at this time but when it comes to grammar... if you spot something, say something!
One more thing--if you enjoy this book, feel free to "talk it up" on social media. It's not on pre-order yet but as soon as it is I will provide the links in one of my weekly follow-ups. Ditto Goodreads and Storygraph.
Let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to your feedback!
Sincerely,
Sara Cleveland
PS. THANK YOU for spending you time helping me make this book better. It means the world to me.
PPS. If you want to take notes on your Kindle and export it, please refer to Carol Beth Anderson's excellent guide on how to do so.

PPPS. A very good chunk of this email is a direct copy from Carol Beth Anderson's Early Readers Catch the Worms. If you are an author and you haven't read it I recommend picking it up. It's good stuff.
