Friday Edition  ◆  9 May 2026

This week: two of the most misunderstood configurations in Jyotish —
the houses that silently drain a chart, and the dasha that hides a breakthrough inside apparent destruction.

Technique 1

Trika Houses: The Three Drains That Corrupt Every Planet They Touch

The 6th, 8th, and 12th houses are the Trika (evil trio). Any planet placed here, or any house lord that rules here, carries a burden that undermines prosperity. Understanding their exact mode of harm separates accurate prediction from guesswork.

Technique Breakdown

6th house = disease, debt, and enemies; its lord activates disputes and chronic health issues in its dasha.
8th house = death, hidden matters, transformation; 8th lord in Trika houses brings potential for untimely events.
12th house = loss, foreign lands, moksha; its lord drains resources — but benefics here cause “good expenditure.”
Viparita Rajayoga exception: 8th lord IN the 8th (or 6th, 12th lords in their own Trika houses) creates a paradox — eminence earned through personal effort and adversity.
Classic example: Indira Gandhi — exchange of multiple lords through Rajayogas vs. Nandini Satpathy — Viparita Rajayoga producing earned success through struggle.

✦ Technique Insight

Viparita Rajayoga is the Trika’s redemptive reversal. When Trika lords occupy Trika houses, they neutralise each other’s harm and create a unique success trajectory — but only through the native’s own effort, never inherited ease.

Technique 2

8th Lord in Trika = Death Risk or Secret Triumph? The Dasha Decoder

The 8th lord placed in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house brings the dasha of potential death-like events. However, this same configuration is the seed of Viparita Rajayoga — one of astrology’s most paradoxical placements, producing greatness through adversity.

Technique Breakdown

If 8th lord is in 6th, 8th, or 12th: its dasha (and especially sub-periods of 6th, 8th, 12th lords) carries high risk of death, danger, or severe disruption.
Viparita Rajayoga activates when Trika lords occupy Trika houses — the native earns status through personal effort, not inheritance.
Sub-rule: 6th, 8th, 12th lords in mutual Trika placements = progressive amplification of Viparita Rajayoga strength.
The quality distinction: Ordinary Rajayoga = inherited or effortless gain; Viparita Rajayoga = hard-won, self-made achievement.
Chart examples: Indira Gandhi (inherited Rajayoga), Nandini Satpathy and Franklin Roosevelt (Viparita Rajayoga — self-made through struggle).

✦ Technique Insight

Before predicting death or catastrophe from Trika lord dashas, first identify if Viparita Rajayoga is active. What looks like destruction may be the precursor to an unexpected rise in status.

◆   Remedy of the Week   ◆

Shani Amavasya — Upcoming

Shani Amavasya is one of the most powerful days in the Vedic calendar to appease Saturn, seek relief from Pitru dosha, and dissolve the weight of Shani Mahadasha or Sade Sati. Observe these three remedies with faith and devotion.

Remedy 1  ◆  Offering Water at the Root of the Peepal Tree

Offer water at the root of the Peepal tree using a copper, brass, or silver vessel. You may mix sandalwood, kumkum, or black sesame seeds (kale til) in the water — or plain water is equally sufficient. Even a single drop of water offered with devotion is described in the scriptures as conferring immense merit.

Chant while offering — choose any one:

✦  ॐ  शं शनैश्चराय नमः

✦  ॐ  सर्वपितृभ्यो मम मनोरथ सिद्धिं कुरु कुरु स्वाहा

✦  ॐ  नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय

Remedy 2  ◆  Circumambulation (Parikrama) of the Peepal

After offering water, perform pradakshina (circumambulation) of the Peepal tree. You may complete 1, 3, 5, 7, or — with time and devotion — even 108 circumambulations. Each round is an act of surrender and reverence to Saturn’s energy as teacher and purifier.

Remedy 3  ◆  Special Shani Donations (Before Sunset)

Especially beneficial for those experiencing Sade Sati, Dhaiyya, Shani Mahadasha, Pitru dosha, or Shani–Rahu / Shani–Ketu combinations. Donate the following four items at a Shani temple, to a deserving Brahmin, or to any person you consider appropriate — before sunset.

Black urad dal — from approximately 100g up to 1kg
Iron items — an iron nail, utensil, or any small iron object
Mustard oil or sesame oil
Black cloth or black clothing
