ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः
तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि।
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्॥

oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
tat savitur vareṇyaṃ bhargo devasya dhīmahi।
dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt॥

"We meditate upon the most adorable, most enlightening divine light of the Sun.
May that divine light illuminate and guide our intellect."

Reflection

Called the Mother of the Vedas, the Gayatri Mantra from the Rig Veda (3.62.10) is not a prayer of petition but a meditation on divine light itself — Savitri, the solar intelligence that awakens higher consciousness. In Jyotish, the Sun represents the soul, the atma-karaka, the unerring witness within the chart. Chanting this mantra at dawn is said to destroy ignorance and awaken the discriminative intellect that makes us true students of astrology.

Technique 1

Rare Bad Transits — Three Classical Conditions

Source: Jataka Parijata, Phaladeepika, Prashna Marga — compiled by C. S. Patel, Saptarishis Astrology

This rare transit technique appears in near-identical form across three classical texts — Jataka Parijata, Phaladeepika, and Prashna Marga — and was brought to students' attention through the late C. S. Patel's works. It identifies a specific convergence of three simultaneous transit conditions that, when any two occur together, signal a period of significant adverse events. Crucially, the natal chart must carry the yoga for bad events — without natal promise, even these conditions pass without harm.

✦  Condition 1: Transit Saturn over Natal Saturn — or in 2nd house from Natal Saturn while going retrograde

✦  Condition 2: Transit Jupiter in 3rd house from Natal Jupiter

✦  Condition 3: Transit Rahu in 9th house from Natal Rahu

✦  Rule: Any two conditions occurring simultaneously (esp. 2 & 3) indicate adverse events — test on known charts first

✦ Technique Insight ✦

"No transit is totally bad or totally good — some good or bad events happen at the same time."

Technique 2

Jupiter in Dual Signs — The Hidden Disruption to the 7th House

Source: Laghu Parashari — technique by Ashok Upadhaya, Saptarishis Astrology

This technique is based on Laghu Parashari and was shared by Ashok Upadhaya through Saptarishis Astrology research. It states that when Jupiter occupies any of the four dual signs — Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces — it will spoil, destroy, or delay one of the results of the 7th house from its placement. Students are encouraged to test this across known charts.

✦  Rule: Jupiter in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces spoils/destroys/delays a result of the 7th house from that sign

✦  Effect: Not the 7th house of the chart — the 7th from wherever Jupiter sits in the dual sign

✦  Nature: Result can be spoiled (quality), destroyed (absence), or delayed (timing) — chart context determines which

✦  Test: Locate natal Jupiter — if in a dual sign, identify the 7th from it and observe those house results in the native's life

✦ Technique Insight ✦

"If Jupiter is placed in Dual Signs it would spoil, destroy or delay one of the results of the 7th house from it."

Technique 3

Mercury Lucky Technique — Activated Age at the 24th Year

Source: BSP New Revelations — Tamil Nadi Astrology Series, Saptarishis Astrology

This technique comes from the Tamil Nadi Astrology Series published through Saptarishis Astrology's BSP New Revelations research. It uses a fixed activation age system to identify when a planet's house placement becomes most significant in the native's life. For Mercury specifically, when it is highly lucky in the chart, the 7th house from Mercury gets activated in the native's 24th year.

✦  Rule: If Mercury is highly lucky, the 7th from Mercury — or any planet placed there, or the lord of that sign — is activated in the native's 24th year

✦  Step 1: Locate Mercury — assess if it is strong and well-placed (highly lucky) in the natal chart

✦  Step 2: Find 7th from Mercury — note planets placed there or the sign lord — predict events from those planets/houses for the 24th year

✦  Advanced: Repeat from Natal Ascendant, Moon Ascendant, and Arudha Ascendant for up to 3 distinct activated years and events

✦ Technique Insight ✦

"The 7th from Mercury will be activated in the 24th year if Mercury is highly lucky — combine all three ascendants for N number of events."

Rare Story

Narasimha Without Prahlada — When Dharma Needs No Devotee

Chart · Case · Commentary

Shiva narrates to Parvati a tale that precedes Prahlada's famous devotion: Hiranyakashipu's tyranny had peaked, pillars wept blood, and yet no devotee had intervened. Pure divine fury alone sufficed. From a golden pillar burst Narasimha — claws tearing asura flesh, blood painting twilight crimson. The heavens trembled and creation held its breath. Hiranyakashipu's soul, seeing its own karma mirrored in the lion-man's gaze, dissolved instantly. Brahma emerged weeping: "Even without human plea, Dharma's sword cuts true." This rarest Narasimha leela reveals a truth often overlooked — devotion calls grace, yet grace needs no call. When human intervention fails and the cosmic timetable has arrived, Divine force moves on its own. Source: Brahmanda Purana.
