August Update - New Release, New Work-in- Progress, and a Giveaway

All That Remains releases in just over 3 weeks, and I'm very happy to say that the early responses are positive!

It doesn't matter how many books I've written, I still get incredibly nervous about it. And this one especially, because Ben, Eva, and Annie have been characters in my head for so many years while I tried to figure out how to tell their story. As well as all the promotion around All That Remains, I've also been inspired by a reader's comments to finally start work on a new novel that has been kicking around in my head for a while. It's still WW2 but set in Australia for the first time, which will make for some interesting research for me. I have my basic premise (my two main characters and the setting) and I'm deep into reading and researching now.
I still haven't quite decided how to structure the book though - just out of interest, do you prefer single timelines or dual timelines, where the story switches back and forth between time periods? I enjoy writing both, and I'm not quite sure which way this one will go - at the moment, there's potential for both possibilities. Please let me know your preferences, and I'll definitely keep it in mind!
What I'm Reading: At the Foot of the Cherry Tree by Alli Parker. I picked this one up partly because of the gorgeous cover and partly because it touches on similar elements to my new work in progress. It is the story of the love affair and marriage of an Australian soldier and a Japanese girl just after the war, and the trials they face to be together in the face of the white Australia policy. Based on the real life experiences of the author's grandparents, it's a beautiful and heart-warming book.
What I'm Watching: Rogue Heroes Season 1. The incredible (mostly) true story of how the British SAS came to be. An autonomous band of misfits, they changed the course of the war in North Africa, and the rest, as they say, is history. Very entertaining.
