So far, readers are loving it - which is always such a relief! Nice reviews like these are definitely the way to a writer's heart ☺️❤️

“Slade’s writing was beautiful.”

“If you love fantasy books then this is a must read.”

“This dark magic and captivating fantasy book is one you do not want to miss.”

I would love for you to leave a review at your favourite bookstore – even a line or two can help other readers decide to buy!

As well as releasing Caress of a Witch, I’ve been working hard on a prequel which I hope to release later this year. It’s called Blood of a Witch, and is set a couple of years before the trilogy opens. I plan to have it up for preorder very soon!

Here’s a sneak peek of the first draft of the blurb.

With nowhere else left to turn, a forbidden ritual could be her only chance to save a life.

Amy Montague’s young brother is dying. Each day she watches Edward gasp for air, his life ebbing away before her eyes. The physician is helpless to ease his suffering. Until he suggests to her an unexpected possibility – a ritual to bargain with the spirits for Edward’s life.

Tom Wynter spends his nights in the inns and taverns of Bankside, seeking out arcane knowledge from strangers. So when he meets an intriguing physician who offers tantalising glimpses of forbidden lore, Tom is only too willing accept.

But the physician has secrets of his own to hide and Tom and Amy’s worlds soon collide. Then Amy discovers an unexpected and horrifying truth. In a world of shifting certainties, can she find the strength to survive?

What I’m reading: Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. I bought this a while ago, tempted by the fabulous cover, but it’s a weighty read and it’s taken me a while to get to it. It was definitely worth the wait – detailed word-building, characters you really care about, a suspenseful plot, and dragons – really, what more could a girl want?

What I’m watching: Dark Matter on Apple TV. When a physicist finds himself ripped from his world and thrown into a multiverse of a multiple possible lifetimes, he must find a way back to the family he loves. Thought-provoking and tense.

Please do drop me a line if you have any comments or feedback - I'd love to hear from you.
