Hi

Happy New Year Everyone!

Sorry my monthly newsletter is a bit late this month – I wanted to wait until I had all my ducks in a row, and everything always takes just a little bit longer than you think! I had a wonderful break over Christmas and New Year – lots of reading, sleeping, and country strolls. It’s been far too long since I had a holiday where I’m not running around.

So now I’m happy to announce that my new World War II novella – The Last Goodbye, is now available for pre-order here: https://books2read.com/u/mgP9p0

I will also be running a Kindle Goodreads Giveaway from January 20th, and I'll send you a reminder so you can enter to win one of 20 e-book copies.

You can grab an Advance Review Copy if you like – just a few words like “I enjoyed this book,” or “This was a great read,” at your favourite retailer helps a book gain visibility and new readers. One of the best things you can do for an author you love is leave a review! Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you the download link.

In other news, the audio files of Out of the Ashes will shortly be going to the sound engineer for mastering and I hope by next newsletter to be able to give you a date for release. I’ll be releasing a Large Print version at the same time.

And last but not least, over the holidays I spent some time analysing what’s working and what isn’t, and I’ve decided that my historical fantasy Web of Witches series needs a complete overhaul. So I’ve now unpublished them and will re-release rewritten editions later this year under a new pen name, with new titles and covers. It’s really quite exciting – a brand new start!

What I’m watching - Mrs Wilson

An amazing story of a World War II intelligence officer and writer who left behind him on his death a trail of wives, lies and unanswered questions. Even more interesting is that the main character is played by Ruth Wilson, who is actually the granddaughter of the character she plays. Highly recommended.

What I’m reading - Wakenhyrst by Michelle Paver

This book has been on my reading list for ages and I was given a copy for Christmas. I’m about three-quarters of the way through it as I write this, and thoroughly enjoying it. Set in the Suffolk Fens in Edwardian England, it’s a darkly gothic thriller about murderous obsession and a young woman’s wish to be free of the constraints of a woman’s life at the time.

Here are the links to my books. Have you read them all?

Historical Fiction

Another Time and Place

The Officer's Affair

Out of the Ashes

The King James Men

Till next time - happy reading!

Kind regards

Samantha
