Find the hazard 🔎

Hey Safety Champion!
It's good to see you here. You know when you work in a certain field or job, you can just spot things from across the room? I have heard of barista’s being able to tell if someone is frothing the milk properly by the sound the steamer is making. Or maybe its a mechanic that can tell what is wrong with your engine without popping the hood?
Well, in safety, you and I can get pretty good at identifying hazards ⚠️in the workplace. Or you read an accident investigation and you know the true root cause other than the one identified on the report?
It’s a great skill to have- and to hone in on and improve. This is part of developing our craft. It makes us better at keeping people safe. Some people would call that being a safety cop👮♂️. I think it is better defined as an increased awareness that will prevent injury or accident. What do you think? Reply to this email and let me know!
I have been contemplating sharing some different hazards that I find while I am out and about. A colleague and I have sent each other pictures of hazards that we find on occasion, and it is amazing not only what hazards are found, but how trained your eyes become to seeing hazards all the time. Check out my socials on Sundays moving forward to see if you can Spot the Hazard with me!
