daily life

this week i spent > 10 hours wrapping up projects from my last job, so i didn’t study Korean as much as i wanted. i also bought an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset, which is fun but a total waste of time. in Korean news i had an appointment at the Seoul immigration office and (finally) finished my first children’s book.

i also met with a friend to record a cover of Best Part by Daniel Caesar, but i screwed up the harmony so we need to redo it. sneak preview here.

일상 생활

이번주에는 저번에 하던 작업을 위해 열 시간 이상 동안 몇몇 할 일을 끝냈어요. 그래서 한국어 공부를 하고 싶은 만큼 못했어요. 또한 Oculus Quest 2 VR 헤드셋을 사고 재미 있었지만, 많은 시간을 거기에 낭비했어요. 한국 관련 소식으로는 서울출입국사무소에 찾아가기로 했고 드디어 첫 번째 아동 도서를 끝냈어요.

그리고 커버노래 Best Part by Daniel Caesar를 녹화하려고 친구랑 만났는데 제가 화음을 망쳐서 다시해야 돼요. 짧은 예고편이 여기 있어요.

reflection

i know a lot of Korean words (> 5,000) and at least 200-300 grammar points. but my listening skills are horrendous. so i’m going to start watching K-dramas and listening to Korean podcasts, even though i hate podcasts. i also began recording conversations with the cafe owner downstairs, who likes me.

돌아보기

한국어 단어 5천개 이상을 알고 문법 법칙을 200 개 이상 아는데도 제 듣기 실력은 극혐이에요. 그래서 고치려고 한드를 시청하기 시작했고 한국어 팟캐스트를 듣는 것도 시작 할거예요. 저는 팟캐스트를 싫어하지만요. 추가로 저를 친근하게 대해주시는 아랫층 카페 주인과의 대화를 살짝 녹음하기 시작했어요ㅋㅋ.

많은 사람들이 저한테 “어떻게 한국 비자 받았어요?”라고 물어봤어요. 오늘부터 공식적으로 이야기를 나눌 수 있어요: 저는 광고 대행사의 CTO예요. 

what’s next

• shutting down some tech side projects so i can stop checking email
• watching Sopranos between study sessions
• making new (guy) friends through HelloTalk, a language exchange app

그 다음 계획

• 몇몇 기술 사이드 프로젝트들 끝내기. 내가 이메일을 그만 확인할 수 있도록.
• 쉬는 시간 동안 Sopranos 쇼를 보기 (스트레스 힐링)
• 헬로톡 (언어교환 앱)을  통해서 새로운 (남자인) 한국 친구를 사귀기
