week 20


20주차


daily life

for the last ~month i’ve been running around to meetings, studios, and side gigs. i drank at bars. i invited random people off the street to my home. this week i forced myself to sit in a cafe, eat a lot of salads, and catch up on “real work.” i also started hanging out w/ Dan.


for me in 2021, “real work” means small maintenance projects that keep my companies alive. it also means exploring new revenue channels -- small businesses i can acquire, investments, and so on.


my other focus was listening to 100% Korean podcasts, particularly SpongeMind. what i love about this show is how they record every episode twice -- once in Korean, once in English. i listen to the English version first (at 2x speed) for context, then furrow my brows as i struggle through the Korean counterpart. i’m currently up to episode 7, which means i listened to 14 total this week.


일상 생활

4주 전부터 이번 주까지 프로젝트 미팅, 스튜디오 예약, 네트워킹 관련 일을 많이 했어요. 그리고 술집에서 과음하고 길에서 (무작위로) 만난 사람들을 우리 집으로 초대했어요. 아이고… 그래서 이번 주는 그냥 카페에 가서 샐러드 먹고 “진짜 일"을 해야 됐어요. 새로 “Dan”이라는 친구랑도 놀기 시작했어요.


저에게 2021년도는 “진짜 일"이 제 회사들을 마케팅, 유지하는 거예요. 그 외에 또한 새 수익원들을 탐색하는 거 기도 해요. 인수할 수 있는 작은 회사, 재테크, 등.


한국어 배우기는 한국어 백프로인 팟캐스트를 듣기 시작했어요. “SpongeMind”이라는 영어와 한국어를 둘 다 제공하는 팟캐스트를 특히 좋아해요. 먼저 문맥을 이해하려고 영어 버전을 2배속으로 듣고 조금 후에 한국어 버전을 들어요. 지금까지 에피소드 7회까지 듣느라 이번 주에 에피소드 14 개를 들었어요.


projects

this week i recorded 3 new demos at my ghetto home studio and booked a 9 hour [professional] studio session for April 18, where i’ll produce my new single “토요일" (Saturday). otherwise… no projects. :)


사이드 프로젝트

이번 주에 불쌍한 홈 스튜디오에서 데모 노래 세 개를 녹음했어요. 그리고 4월 18일에 전문적인 스튜디오를 9시간 예약했어요. 거기에서 새 “토요일"이라는 노래를 녹음할거예요. 그 외에는… 프로젝트 없었어요 :)
