Hello ,
Did you ever notice how apologies don’t always land? A colleague says sorry again and again, or you find yourself apologizing on repeat, but the tension still stays?
That’s because what people really need isn’t just the words “I’m sorry”; it’s to have the feeling underneath acknowledged.
In one of my work meetings earlier this week, a collaborator kept apologizing for double-booking herself and not being able to attend the whole meeting. The rest of us were fine, but she couldn’t let it go. When I said, “I hear you feel uncomfortable and a little embarrassed about forgetting this meeting,” the tension finally lifted, she stopped apologizing and deeply exhaled.
One small shift with a big impact.
And when someone’s upset with me? Instead of rushing to explain myself, I pause and say:
“Let me make sure I understand what’s happening for you right now.” I shared more in this short reel: (IG/FB/LI version).
Here’s the bigger question: you might know these tools, but how often do you actually use them in real life? That’s the gap, I talk about it in this recent video (IG/FB/LI version)
To make the tools stick, you need practice, accountability, and support. That’s why I created At Ease, Empowered & Connected, a 6-week live online course where we don’t just learn theory, we practice together until these new behaviours become second nature.
We’re just 9 days away from starting again on September 15th. The sooner you join, the more I can adapt parts of the course to your specific needs. If you’ve been considering it, now is the time!
👉 Join us here 👈 and give yourself the tools for calmer presence, clearer communication, and more authentic connections.
And if you know someone who could use this, please forward this email to them. You’ll receive $50 USD for each person who enrolls thanks to you, or exchange it for a 30-minute private session with me ($100 value).
I wish you a beautiful and nourishing weekend.
Warmly,
Roxana 💜
