Cherry Chatter: Last chance for Morello Sour Cherries 4 January
Jan 02, 2026 10:23 am
Happy New Year! We hope that 2026 brings you and your loved ones good health and happiness.
Open orchard 4 January 8a-12p Morello Sour Cherries
Our Morello Sour Cherries have another wave of fruit ripening and there is one last chance this season to pick or buy ready picked our sour cherries this Sunday 4 January 8am until 12pm.
There are still plenty of sour cherry trees under the bird nets left to pick. It’s forecast a hot day and we will be working to pick the trees clean so we do suggest to come early if you can.
If you plan to come to pick later in the day please let us know.
These sour cherries are a very different fruit to the sweet black cherries we are most familiar with. Very tart, very delicious and the best for jam, cakes and cooking. We've enjoyed hearing the stories and recipes from visitors last week about how they will use these special little fruits.
Delivery of sour cherries to Coonabarabran, Coolah, Gunnedah and Narrabri is possible on 5 or 6 January – please reply by email if you would like to order. 2kg boxes $40; 500g punnets $10.
Thank-you from our family
As we wrap up another cherry season we’d like to say a very big thank-you to everyone who has visited the farm or bought our cherries this season. A huge thank-you for enjoying our produce and supporting our family farm. Buying direct makes it possible for us to get the freshest fruit to you.
We'll take a little break with family and to catch up on some sleep before starting pruning next month getting ready for next season.
Thank-you
