Damaged by Cam Torrens

Deb just started reading this book by Cam Torrens, another Black Rose Writing author. She really loved the previous book, Stable, even though the topic is pretty creepy. Cam’s books are rescue thrillers, so there is a ton of action and rapid-fire dialog, but the necessary jargon is presented in a very natural way, and he even manages a good bit of character development and backstory. He is also one of the most prolific readers and reviewers I have ever met. A great author to know.

What we’re writing

 Oss'stera and more

We have already submitted the manuscript for Oss'stera, the next book in the Spirit Song: Rebels Rising prequel series. Please contact us if you would like to have an advanced reader copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review when the book is published in September 2025. Ross has also submitted Spirit Light Volume 2, the next book in the Spirit Song Saga. Finally, Spirit Sight Volume 1 has been updated to align better with the later books in the series.  What we’re doing

Annual Key West writing adventure

Ross and Deb escaped the arctic temperatures of Wisconsin for a week in Key West, warming our cold Midwest bones and soaking up the vibes. One of the coolest events during our stay was a civil war reenactment of the union soldiers securing the Fort Zachary Taylor fort during the civil war. Other than that, we got a lot of writing done, and not much else, which is just fine with us.
