Hey Folks,
Happy New Year to you all.
I genuinely hope you had a lovely Christmas & New Year.
Apologies that I haven't been in touch lately, but there is a reason. I'm writing to you today with both sad & happy news.
#1 - The Sad News
I am sorry to announce that, as of next week, I will start winding down my operations at Booky Wooky. For many reasons, it's time to say goodbye to it.
Thank you so much for your support and for making this journey possible. I quite literally couldn't have done it without you.
But before that happens - an olive branch for you lovely people!
Final, Last Orders Please!
If you have been sitting on the fence about creating your Booky Wooky book, well, this is your final chance to make your beautiful books with a 100% small, Irish family-owned business.
I will be leaving the site online until the 15th February 2022 (amazing Valentine's Day gift anyone?!) but I will pull the site down at midnight that night - and with a lump in my throat. This is it.
[If you need any convincing, check out my customer reviews on Trust Pilot & Facebook - I've only ever received 5 Stars, you know!]
#2 - The Good News
They say when one window shuts - another one opens...right? Just because Booky Wooky is winding up certainly does not mean I am!
Fun Fact!
Did you know that Sylvester Stallone was rejected 1,500 times when he tried selling his script and himself for what would later become the film Rocky?
or
James Dyson (the founder of the Dyson brand) created 5,126 failed prototypes of his vacuum cleaner before succeeding?!
My point is this - I'm not finished. I'm only starting!
I've taken all the lessons from Booky Wooky - positive & negative -, and I've learned from both. (Especially from any mistakes I've made!).
So with that in mind, allow me to introduce you to...
I've been a Dad for nine years, with the last 5 of those as a SAHD (Stay at Home Dad). I've written/blogged about it here as 'The Stented Papa'.
I want to help other Dads (of all descriptions) with the numerous tasks and responsibilities they have as a Dad. I want to help change many perceptions about Dads. Although slightly more acceptable today, I gave up work to become a SAHD, which still turned many heads. So much so, it got me on national radio/TV/newspapers, which shows you just how 'strange' it is still looked upon today.
I want to change that narrative among many others. Descriptions like this - 'Agh, so you're babysitting the kids when your wife goes out later?' (Have you ever heard that before?)
Arrgghhh!!! Dads Do Not Babysit their children. Dads parent.
So, from newborn babies to bonding, helping & supporting their partner to dealing with Mental Health issues, fitness & nutrition to 'Hospital Survival Kits' & other really cool and sustainable merchandise - The Dad Academy will be there to support all Dads, in numerous ways, in a safe space.

Lastly, while I might be signing off from Booky Wooky, I am delighted to sign in with The Dad Academy.
Be great, you crazy kids.
Ross
Pssst .. Coming Soon!
I'm working on a brand new site - www.rossgood.com - where 'The Dad Academy' + 'The Stented Papa's Blog' will live, plus much more to come.
