A Solid Plan is now available!
Our favorite match-maker, Raven Swann, is at it again in number 14 in the Modern Match-Maker Romance series as she finds love for Jack and Vanessa.
One teensy little problem this time around though: someone on one of the teams fancies herself a bit a of match-maker as well, and she doesn't agree with Raven's decision.
Who will our couple listen to? And will it sabotage their chance at happily ever after?
Hi Rockstars! I'm pretty excited about getting to announce that another Match-Maker book has dropped on the Amazon store!
This one has an amateur match-maker getting in Raven's way, and some serious cheating going on-- NOT THAT KIND! (I would never do that to you!)
Let's just say, Jack and Vanny can get competitive, and neither are the type to take little things like game rules too seriously.
A Solid Plan is another fun, low drama, trip to happily ever after with a couple that has serious chemistry and some lovable side characters acting on their behalf to make sure they get to the altar.
Vanessa:
Jack looks like his mom. Which is good because his dad looks like a cross between Eugene Levy and Sylvester Stallone. Which somehow works for Bert but not in a way that gets to me, if you know what I mean.
My future husband towers over my sister by nearly a foot and he leans down beside her so his ear is closer to hear whatever she's saying to him.
His hair is a dark blonde that's neatly combed now, but it doesn't look like combed is its natural state and I expect to see the longer top of the cut end up in his eyes before the night is done.
I can't make out what color his eyes are from this distance, but if they take after Debbie's they're a hazel green color that changes with his mood. If they're like Bert's, then they're a deep brown with a tendency to give him away when he's trying to pull a fast one on you.
He stands back up straight as Brad and Gracie join them and I get just another second or two to appreciate the width of his shoulders and and the way his silk shirt fits over a broad chest and a reveals a flat stomach where it tucks into the band of a pair of black dress pants.
So far so good, Jenn and Brenda were definitely thinking about what I like to look at.
Problem is, what I like to look at hasn't exactly proven to be what I'm looking for in a partner. That was the whole point in hiring a match-maker and having someone else find a husband for me.
Now I'm worried I made a huge mistake.
What if my team didn't understand the assignment?
What if my cousin and my sister went through all this hassle and just picked the guy they thought was the best looking? Or made the most money?
"Van!" Brenda calls me impatiently, her tone insinuating that I'm embarrassing her. "Are you coming or not?"
It's innocent enough but, given the nature of the meeting, I can't help but here the potential double entendre in her question and I feel myself blush as I try to remember how to walk.
Casually.
Confidently.
Like I go to bougie country clubs to meet total-- smoking hot-- strangers that I'm going to marry all the time.
Jack:
I'm pretty sure I've been quiet long enough that everyone is staring at me now but maybe it's just my imagination. Time seems to be standing still and I can't tell if I've been fixating on those plump lips for thirty seconds or an hour already.
"Um," I cough slightly, clearing my throat and thrusting my hand toward her a tad over eagerly, "I'm Jack."
A few snickers sound around us and I feel myself blush.
"Sorry, you already know that." I laugh and feel myself relax just a tad when she slips her hand in mine for a shake.
It feels like a weird way to greet a woman I'm supposed to be proposing to in the next few days, but her hand is small and soft in mine and the innocent touch has my heart speeding up and my dick begging to be adjusted.
Actually, my dick is begging for something far more than an adjustment but I will the fucker down and remind myself that this is a casual meeting.
Just a chance to get to know each other, find out if we're interested enough to go further.
"Our coach is waiting," Brenda chirps from the reception desk, "let's go, guys."
"Do you know how to play bocci ball?" Vanessa whispers at me as we fall in behind the rest of our party and follow Brenda through big side doors into an open courtyard.
"Is that the thing where you use the flamingos to hit the groundhogs through the hoops?" I ask-- genuinely clueless about what the hell bocci ball is.
Vanessa giggles and I like it so I try to make her do it again.
By the time we've caught up with everyone else, I feel like I've got a pretty good handle on her sense of humor and the laughs we've shared have us both more relaxed with each other.
I'm definitely interested in a second date.
