Check Out This New Mountain Man from Lana Love
Apr 25, 2024 12:00 pm
OK, I admit it: another week just snuck by me. I don't know where it went. It was super stealthy and I didn't even notice it get away.
Probably because I've been working so hard to get Promises on the Mountain (Raine and April's book) out when I said I would! That is the only excuse I can think of for how it could possibly be a week later and have me staring at the calendar like-- huh?
Have no fears! Raine and April are doing great! There's a pesky little matter left to clear up, but I'm pretty sure it's going to work out.
And Promises is still expected to be available on May 8. Although I am starting to say that with my fingers crossed.
IN THE MEANTIME:
Have you been reading Lana Love's Heartland Heroes: King Mountain series?
I mean, the books have burly dudes in flannel on the covers and all the titles (so far) start with the word "Rugged," so you know I'm there!
The second book in the series dropped this morning, and I don't get to read it until after I finish Raine and April's book-- but you can grab it now
over on Amazon for $2.99 or do that FREE thing with a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
One rugged mountain man + One curvy babe on the run and needing protection + One overprotective dog = An alpha protector mountain romance that will make you fan yourself!
It's been a long-ass summer up here on King Mountain. The end of the rental season can't come fast enough. Especially when I find out the city kids at the cabins have started a fire. During a burn ban.
After I get the renters to extinguish the fire, I keep checking the surveillance feed for the cabins. I tell myself it's to make sure they don't start a new fire, but it's also for me to catch glimpses of the curvy beauty who made me want to take her away from the cabins and into my arms and bed.
Then my damn dog won't sleep and demands I take him for a walk, even though it's the middle of the $(*&@ night. And he leads me straight to a woman whose shivering and passed out in the woods.
It takes a lot of convincing, but I get her to agree to let me help her and to get her back to my cabin. When I realize she's the woman from earlier, and then why she was scared and on the run. I see red.
Because real men don't disrespect women like that. Ana is on my mountain and under my protection. Me and the men of King Mountain are going to deal with that miscreant, and then I'm going to make her mine.
The other thing? My damn misanthropic dog loves her and growls at me if I get close to her. Hint: he's not going to keep me away from this woman, no matter how loudly he barks or growls at me. If there's one thing I know for sure, my crazy dog won't stop me from claiming the woman who has me dreaming of a future and a family.
Rugged Savior is book 2 in Heartland Heroes: The Men of King Mountain. If you like small-town and mountain man romance with a strong sense of community, featuring military veterans, blue collar alpha men, and the curvy women they can't live without, get ready for a series you'll fall in love with, because that's what you'll get with the men who live on King Mountain. Steamy HEAs guaranteed, no cheating, no ex-drama -- always just two people who can't resist each other forging a new and loving future together.
I have so much catching up to do! I don't even remember the last time I posted anything on social media-- good thing no one goes there looking for news from me!
Website? Yeah, I should probably update that too.
All my focus is on Raine and April, at the moment. And how ever-loving hot it's been in New Mexico. Then how ever-loving freezing cold it was for three days. And then, how it can be so ever-loving hot again so quickly?!
I'm past due to find a laundromat. I need to figure out what town I'll be in next and have mail forwarded to me. BFF wants to know when I'll be back in Tahoe....and I'm behind on my to-be-read list because I keep getting distracted by pretty ads on Instagram for new, sinister, villain romances.
Yeah, I've been on a binge lately and, to be honest? It's not really my thing. But I can't stop reading them! (Adds "find addicted to not-my-kink reader support group" to to-do list.)
Oh! And also, I am working on a prequel short to Mountain Man's Hope (Mesa and Robin,) so we can see how they got together before they really got together. No ETA on that yet, but it's in the works.
I'll be back next week with an update on Raine and April!
