for
Promises on the Mountain: the Hart Family of Moonshine Ridge
Here we go! Promises is the first book of the Hart family and the beginning of the end of our introduction to Moonshine Ridge.
The Hart's have some wounds to heal in the family and I'm enjoying finally getting to see that happen, starting with Raine and April.
This is an advance review copy for ARC team members only, so no sharing!
The download link will be good for a week. The book is available for pre-order now and scheduled to release on May 8.
Amazon says it's 86 pages and that means it'll take an average reader around 2 hours to read.
Grab your copy and a snack and enjoy Raine and April (nope, did not do the April rain thing on purpose. Scout's honor, it just worked out that way.)
Raine Hart
I could give a rat's ass about fancy coffee, but what I do like about having the new cafe open on the mountain is the curvy little thing brewing it.
The first time I set eyes on April Holloway, she looks like she could use a month of good meals and a good night's sleep.
I tell myself I'm just trying to help her out-- make sure her business takes hold here in a small mountain town where bearded men in flannel can't tell the difference between light and dark espresso roasts and don't care.
Or maybe it's the haunted look about her that I know all too well that has me wasting six dollars on a cup of coffee every morning.
All I know is that she stirs up something inside me that I never thought I'd get for myself and now I'll do anything to keep it. No matter how hard April pushes me away, I'll keep pulling her back.
Because now I know what it feels like to want to be alive.
April's fighting demons even darker than my own and I'll slay every one of them to claim my girl.
You can leave reviews on Bookbub and Goodreads whenever you're ready!
I hope you like Raine and April's story-- it was one of the ones that had me ripping out stitches and reworking several times. Those are the ones that always make me nervous.
I am currently working on Zephyr and August's story-- which is a return to good old fashioned over-the-top fun. Or, it will be, if it behaves. I always start with a solid idea of where a story is going and then it goes where it wants and just takes me along for the ride.
In the background, I'm also working on:
- a prequel to Mesa and Robin's story, so you get to see them meet and fall before he gets injured.
- I already have a scene that accompanies Cane's book-- wait what? Cane?! He's the second oldest of the Hart kids, and you'll get to know more about him in Raine's book. His story comes after Zephyrs and is way not written yet, but I had one scene stuck in my head from Mable's POV that would not let me sleep-- so it's written. Waiting.
- Another companion short featuring Mable and Alice that will reveal more of the complexities to their relationship.
- FINALLY! A proper bonus short to Ash and Hyacinth, all the way back to the very first Moonshine Ridge book! I mean-- aren't we all curious how Ash's next family dinner went? "Hi guys, yeah, my fishing trip was ok, didn't catch much but a wife."
- And it looks like there might be a short series of later in life Moonshine Ridge novellas in the future-- ya know, after the firefighters get their series, and how many of Vale's ex-military buddies are going to move to the Ridge? There's a whole hydro-electric plant up in them mountains too, full of blue collar hotties that need HEAs...I know some authors complain that it's difficult for them to come up with new ideas, but I have quite the opposite problem!
I'll be back next week with links for reviews next week, but Bookbub and Goodreads can be added anytime. Thank you!
