Time to Kickstart Book 3

My initial idea for novel Barman was born out of working behind bars for the best part of 15 years, working my way up from the lowest rung on the ladder, right through to becoming a landlord of my own pub/night club.

I wanted to share some of the insights, fun stories I'd witnessed, and get across what it's really like standing on the other side of the bar.

And then Mr. Muse came knocking when I was half way through writing the first chapter which ultimately got scrapped.

What if I wrote a story from two points of time? The same character but six months apart.

This tweaked my interest and everything fell into place.

The story of a nameless man on the verge of killing himself by dropping a load of pills and washing them down with whiskey. This would be how the story opened. Why was he killing himself? What had happened in this man's life for him to want to take it?

After writing the second chapter, where he was more happy go lucky...yes he was battling some problems in his life but things were looking up...I had the whole book mapped out and proceeded to write the climatic ending chapter (which actually occurred in the middle of the character's timeline).

The resulting story is this one, Book 3 in my lad-lit series and one of my favourites because it allowed me to explore some themes which had been taking place in my own life at the time.

Tomorrow morning I'll be starting a kickstarter for this book and as well as offering up signed soft and hardback copies of the novel, there'll be a whole bunch of swag in the tiers.

So, what is Kickstarter?

Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform for creators, innovators, and artists. It allows them to get their products funded by way of different tiers levels which patrons back before the products are launched to the public.

I've had some success with these campaigns before and this time around I wanted to go all out with the extras I'm offering on top of the books.

The great thing about Kickstarter is it costs backers nothing until the end of the campaign (in this instance in 30 days time) and even if you don't want to pledge, you can still follow along with the campaign by hitting the Notify Me button on the campaign's home page.

It would be great to see you get involved. Any funds raised will be put towards my launch campaign when Barman goes live at the end of March.

You can check the launch page out by clicking the link below, and don't forget to hit that Notify Me button.

As well as this campaign I'm also going to be running a competition for peeps to win top tier prizes from my Kickstarter. I'll be talking more about this tomorrow once I've launched.

Have a great evening, and I'll speak to you soon!
