Hi, !
I'm so excited to announce that Twisted by Time and Devoured by Darkness both made it to the top 50 YA Time Travel ebooks last week! π I'm thrilled and humbled that so many people are reading and enjoying my stories π
One of the top questions I get asked is: Why did you decide to self-publish?
Self-publishing isn't what it was ten years ago! There are millions of indie authors out there making a comfortable living off of their books. Just take a look at the bestsellers on the Kindle Store on Amazon. Over half of them are published by indie authors! Isn't that incredible?
I did try the traditional route. I went to writing conferences, pitched my story to agents, queried agents by email, made tons of edits, etc, etc, etc. It was a very slow and lengthy process. Literary gents take two weeks or more to get back to you about a query. If they want to read your manuscript, it can take six months to a YEAR to get a response.
After two years of contacting agents, I realized at this rate, I might never get published because I'd be too busy waiting around for responses. And even if an agent signed with me, I would still have to wait while they shopped around my manuscript to different publishing houses, and even after getting a publishing contract, it could take a year or two for the book to actually be published.
I could've kept pushing. I could've said, "I will not stop until an agent makes me an offer!" But I realized if I did that, I could be waiting five years, ten years, even my whole life and never make my dream come true. So I scrapped the novel I was working on, researched the market, read a ton of indie books to see what I was getting myself into, and then wrote Twisted by Time. One thing I love about being an indie author is I set the schedule. I make the rules. I released three books in 90 days! That's pretty incredible π

New Fantasy Reads!
In a town where magic rules, how do you keep it from destroying everything precious?
Salem, Massachusetts is more famous for its hysteria than its magic, but on the other side of the bespelled barrier, witches do exist, an entire community where those with the most magic wield the most power.
Don't get caught. It's the most important lesson... and I failed.
Living life on the move and under the radar, you'd think I'd know not to scream when witnessing a murder. It should be a no-brainer, but my mouth didn't get the memo, drawing the cops to the wrong conclusion: me.
And the deaths don't stop there.
