So I'm adding a new segment to my emails specifically for those of you who are writing and looking to improve! Let me know if you like these segments or not because I want to make sure I'm giving you the best content I can 🙂 Please keep in mind I am not an expert by any means, but I do have a lot of experience that I would love to share with you!

This week's tip: Show, Don't Tell. Easier said than done, right?

An example is when a character feels emotion. Instead of just saying, "She was scared," describe what that emotion feels like so the reader can feel it, too. For example: "Her pulse raced. Her skin turned clammy, and her heart lurched in her throat. She couldn't breathe. Terror clawed at her chest like a beast intent on devouring her." (I like using similes and metaphors to show emotion😁)
