Here's a Sneak Peek of my Next Book! 📚

image

Hi, !

I've been busy editing The Lost Phoenix, and it's almost finished! Soon I'll be able to send it off to ARC readers and get it ready for launch day! Here's a sneak peek for you...

An explosion of magic burst in the air, the light so blinding I fell backward, shielding my face. Panting, I struggled to rise, but the light burned against my flesh, and I was too weak to fight it.
Moaning, I slumped over, waiting for the glow to fade. I kept my hand over my face to protect myself, but my whole body quivered with pain.
At long last, the intensity of the light subsided. The glow withdrew toward the crypt, leaving me in darkness once more. My hand shook as I lowered it, squinting.
A small box of light still glowed from the crypt. And within that light was a figure I would recognize anywhere.
Brielle.
When I saw her, several things happened at once. Something lifted in my chest so I felt weightless, and my blood thrummed with energy and longing.
Then, the red magic within me roared to life, lunging for Brielle. A wisp of red smoke coiled in the air, floating toward her. The tendril drew closer and closer to Brielle, and with a jolt, I realized what was happening.
Lilith was trying to take Brielle’s powers.
And now Brielle was here, about to step into the Underworld—and give Lilith full access to her magic.
Urgency pulsed through me, and I broke into a run, sprinting toward the glowing light and Brielle. She stepped forward, but I waved my hands frantically.
“No!” I shouted. “Turn back!”
Brielle faltered and cocked her head. I couldn’t make out her face, but I knew she saw me when her whole body stiffened. “Leo?” she called.
The sound of her voice washed over me, but I kept running, desperate to keep her in the mortal realm. “Brielle, get back! She’s coming for you!”
My voice rang in the graveyard, and Brielle’s head turned as if she expected Lilith to show up right next to her.
More red magic swirled in the air, shooting toward Brielle with more intensity than before. Like the magic knew its window of opportunity was closing.
My legs pushed farther and faster. My body ached, but I pressed on. Almost there.
Then, Brielle screamed.

Cast the Nightcaster Characters!

I always love doing this! If The Cursed Witch were made into a movie, who would you cast to play Leo and Brielle?

Brielle is easy. The inspiration for her character is Katherine McNamara (best known for her role as Clary in Shadowhunters). But I was actually more inspired by her role as Mia in Arrow. This character is 10000% Brielle 😁

Leo was a bit trickier because he's young but needs to seem older. I'm torn between Aarón Díaz (Quantico) and David Castañeda (Umbrella Academy). Both are probably too old, but they definitely have the sexy factor going for them 😉 Which would you pick?
