Sunroom chaos, sweet romance, and a question for you!

Hey friend! Come on in, get comfy, and let’s catch up.
First things first… I have a question for my sports-romance readers.
How much actual sports do you like in a sports romance?
I'm asking because the final Sugar Creek book features an NFL hopeful who is training while waiting on the draft. There will be some football—mostly behind-the-scenes stuff, workouts, the emotional pressure of “what if this is my one shot?”—but definitely not pages of play-by-play. I’m curious where you fall on the spectrum:
- Love all the sports! Give me drills, stats, all of it.
- Give me the romance with a sprinkle of sports.
- Somewhere in the middle—I’m here for vibes and swoons.
Hit reply and tell me. Seriously. This helps me so much as I polish the book.
Now… can we talk about the absolute circus happening in my sunroom?
I’m trying to write, minding my own business, and meanwhile, the squirrels and birds have declared a full-on turf war over the sunflower seeds. It’s like reality TV out there, and I’m supposed to focus on my fictional chaos instead of the feathery/fuzzy drama? Impossible. Completely unreasonable. I think the blue jays and cardinals are forming alliances. I’ll keep you posted.
And before I let you go, the audiobook for Ellie vs the New Year’s Kiss will be available any day now! I cannot WAIT for you to hear it. I’ll send out the link the second it’s live, but just know I’m doing the excited wiggle dance over here in the meantime.
Thanks for hanging out with me today. I hope your week is cozy, calm, and filled with something delicious (which I’m absolutely pretending I baked myself).
Big hugs and happy reading,
River 💛

Ever feel like you don’t belong? Try being a hunter living with werewolves. I’m the definition of “doesn’t fit in”. I’m not Pack, but I’m not the enemy, either.
This was one of my favorite trilogies in the Magiford Supernatural City world by KM Shea. Clean, fun series with werewolves that is more about real-life issues and relationships than some other paranormal books. HUNTED is book one. The romance is secondary in my opinion, but worth the read if you're looking for something different.
Start the heartfelt series readers are calling “beautiful, real, and impossible to put down.
About the series: They called themselves the "Mad Mothers" of Middleton, partly because the PTA drove them crazy, partly because heartbreak had pushed them to their edge. Sarah was cheated on. Lila was ghosted by a workaholic husband. Mia's ex came out. Emily, Rachel, and Tessa? Different disasters, same result. No more men. So they made a pact, wine nights over date nights, chaos over codependence, and absolutely zero romantic entanglements.
Then a hot teacher smiles at Sarah. Lila's boss actively listens. And when Tessa catches feelings at a school fundraiser? The pact starts cracking like a dropped casserole dish at a bake sale. Now these women must ask themselves: Was the pact about avoiding love... or finally learning to choose it on their terms? Packed with laugh-out-loud moments, heart-squeezing twists, and friendships that feel like family, The Mad Mothers of Middleton, New Beginnings is your next binge-worthy escape!
