TO BE AWARE OF: Buy Now, Pay Later trend

Some payment providers are aggressively partnering up with merchants to offer 'buy now, pay later' options. They word it like they're helping, but all its doing is taking advantage of those who struggle with delay gratification to purchase another item they cannot afford.

Don't use them. Make it a personal rule to pay items you don't need in full, not put them on payment plans. Be kind to Future You.

*of course* it's a tool. It can be used for good and bad.I'm talking about how it's worded. You CANNOT lower your defenses simply because these companies are 'helping you live your best life'. They don't actually care about you, they care about their profit. All the friendliness is fake. Idgaf if I never get collaboration/sponsorship opportunities from banks and these payment service providers. This needs to be said. Shame on all of them for promoting aspirational lifestyle, knowing that some people aren't good with delayed gratification. #buynowpaylatersucks #predatorypractices
