Hello!
The first day of Spring is approaching, and I couldn't be happier for the return of warm weather. Last weekend, I did a local-ish outdoor event that went well. This was my third year there. I noticed a few more authors there this year, so that was cool to see.
At the end of the show, just as I took my tent down, it started pouring rain. I got soaked and had to walk 2 blocks to where my car was parked, but that wasn't too bad. It's just water, after all. But there was nowhere nearby to put my stuff, so I had to leave it in the rain while I went to get my car to load out. I thought for sure all of my book stock would be damaged. I use these stackable totes, but they only offer so much protection, and knowing I had 3 large events back to back, I was worried.
Once I got home and checked everything, I surprisingly only lost 5 books (all special editions). It was so strange, too, because they were wrapped in bubble wrap, so those should have been the most protected. It could have been much worse, so thankfully that was the worst of it.
Today through Sunday I'm in Washington DC for Awesome Con. I'm sharing a booth with my author friend JC Kang. If you're attending, swing by and say hello! We're at booth I-01. Next weekend I'll be in Richmond VA for GalaxyCon Richmond, followed by Lexington KY for Lexington Comic Con.
Aside from in person shows, I've been working on my griffon rider series Talonbound. Book 1 released on Tuesday last week, and book 2 is up for preorder. It'll launch on April 7. I'm slowly working my way through book 3, which will wrap up the series. If you've read the first one, I'd love to hear your thoughts about it. Feel free to reply to this email and let me know what you think!
The Kickstarter campaign for the special edition hardcovers of my Thread Witch series launched last week, and it's gone fantastic so far. It ends next Friday the 20th, so if you haven't checked it out yet, you can find the link below.
I think that covers everything for now.
Until the next newsletter!
Below you'll find some free ebooks and the link to my Kickstarter!
What I’m reading: I've been trying to make more time to read, and I'm determined to finish Reckoning by Michael R Miller before the end of this month.
What I’m watching: I recently watched Now You See Me 3. I enjoyed the first two movies. You definitely have to suspend your disbelief a little with some of the magic tricks, but they're fun watches. I also watched Zootopia 2. I rather enjoyed the first one much more, but this one was good, too.
What are you reading/watching?
As always, a huge thank you for the support!
Richard
