4. ✅ Rulers, Smart Guides, and Grids turned on
5. ✅ A basic understanding of the Illustrator interface
6. ✅ Notebook or PDF worksheet to take notes
7. ✅ Optional: a mouse or drawing tablet for easier control
8. ✅ A quiet space with no distractions for hands-on practice
