It is possible to make God smaller in our minds. All we have to do is run with the idea that He is like us. Even in our strengths, He is so different than us. He is powerful. Here Paul is so aware of God’s knowledge and wisdom. Often we play mind games like, “If I were God I would do ________________.” Every time we attempt to know the mind of God we are entering into the realm of pride.

The only way we can know the mind and purposes of God is through His word. When we see His mind and purposes play out in the events we encounter we can be sure His sovereignty is not thwarted. They actually cannot be thwarted. Taking time to see His purposes results in giving Him praise. As you consider your part, be assured He will do His part to care for you and bless you.
