Today's Devotional- January 9th

Our prayer life reveals our priorities. Our prayer life revels our values. Our prayer life reveals our spiritual sight. Many years ago I wrongly shut down a trend in our junior high youth group. The students started by praying for sick relatives. That was fine, but they soon began praying for sick pets. These are young kids. Many of them not believers yet. I could have been more tactful in my approach. I should have redirected them to pray for the relatives and for kingdom priorities.

In our passage today the healing ministry has had center stage. Now Jesus wants his disciple to see the necessity for kingdom praying. If the expansion of the kingdom is to take place we need God to raise up more workers. God gladly hears the prayers for healing. God gladly hears prayers of a loved one’s salvation. Here, Jesus, directs us to pray for a multiplying of workers prayer. We pray for salvation to come to our area, but we need to pray for workers to come out of the harvest to help with the work.

We need to look at the believers in our area and pray for them to want training in evangelism and discipleship. We need. To pray that they are hungry to meet new people and share the gospel. We need to pray that they are faith filled disciples ready to give a reason for the hope that is in them. Pray today for God to raise up laborers. Remember, you could be the answer to your own prayers.

Our prayer life reveals our priorities.
