Espero que estén bien. I hope you're doing well. Today’s newsletter will be different from my last ones, because this time, I’m asking for help. I’m asking for your help in supporting the people of Venezuela.

Venezuela is a beautiful and vibrant country that is going through extreme political unrest. Citizens are leaving the country at unprecedented rates, and tensions are at an all time high after the recent presidential elections. If you don’t know what’s going on, here’s a BBC article for context, and I encourage you to do your own supplemental research.

If you know me personally, you know that this issue is near and dear to my heart as I married into a family of Venezuelan immigrants. I have faith that one day soon, Venezuela will be free and prosperous once again, but instead of just hoping, I urge everyone to take action in any way that they can.

Below is a short list of organizations, both in Venezuela and the United States, that are providing support and resources to the people of Venezuela, including those abroad. Please do your research and give what you can. If you can’t give, please share widely. Talk to your friends, talk to your state representatives, talk to whomever you can – people need to know what’s happening.
