The truth about why move more, eat less approach doesn’t work especially if you are stressed out.
Like many I believed in the exercise more, eat less approach for dealing with body issues. As I expanded my knowledge, I quickly learnt that very approach is the reason why people fail, and if you are stressed out, the failure rate is higher. The stats states that people will diet 4 to 5 times per year and fail. So lemme brek it down fuh you
1) You have been told to exercise more and eat less. So possibly you killed yourself with loads of cardio and ate like pigeon. Probably saw changes but they stalled and you decided to up de ting.
2) You realise that your cravings for the bad stuff increased, many days you feel like you would eat a horse and you start to become moody. You kept relying on willpower.
3) Your energy level starts to drop but you still keep pushing at the gym.
4) Then you get stressed out because you believe you are doing the right things but still not changes.
5) Blood sugar becomes unstable, causing more cravings and that is a stressor to the body.
6) Eventually willpower burns out and you stop dieting and being a work horse. You re-feed, ease up off the exercise and gain back the pounds and more.
This happens because this is stressful to the human body so the body’s aim is to get back in balance. This approach just looks at lowering calories but not a balanced metabolism. The metabolism likes to be in balance so will seek to get back balanced. That’s why this approach fails many.
Also as we age, our bodies don't tolerate stress that well so that means this approach will back-fire even more.
What if you ditched that approach and tried something else?
Eat according to your level of activity. Eat more on the days that you're exercising and eat less on the days you aren't.
Try it and see.
