I am guilty...

Hi

Did you ever had a female teacher or co-worker that seemed grumpy and miserable one day then the next week was a sweetheart?

I had that experience at Barbados Community College. I had a teacher that we, yes as in my classmates, would dread going to her class. She just seemed to be a b..tch. And we would say amongst ourselves that she needs to get "some". Then other times she would be super nice. I estimated that around that time she was in her 40s.

Now thinking back, it could have been a possibility that she has been dealing with symptoms of perimenopause. Going back to circa 1999 - 2002, the perimenopause conversations were nile. It's only now that conversations are really coming to the forefront. However, most likely she was told her symptoms were all in her head or she just suffered in silence. And unfortunately,we got the bad and good sides of that.

The thing is, 100% of women will go through the transition. The severity depends on a couple of things. However you do have some control, yes you can make lifestyle changes that can help. What are some of them? The basics that I have been sharing with you constantly. Simple yes, easy to implement not so much. The basics:

  1. Increase your protein intake
  2. Consume adequate water
  3. Eat your veggies especially green leafy ones
  4. Reduced the amount of processed foods and that includes processed 'vegan' foods like the vegan burgers
  5. Reduce your sugar intake
  6. Cut back on the alcohol
  7. Try to incorporate stress reduction techniques.
  8. Do resistance training. Cardio alone ain't cutting it

As I mentioned they are simple but can be challenging to implement. If you do need help and willing to invest in yourself, you can respond Help Me.
