NEWS34 You're invited to my virtual author event! 😊
Dec 02, 2021 1:45 am
Dear friends,
--> FREE VIRTUAL AUTHOR EVENT COMING SOON.
READ BELOW ! <--
I started this newsletter several times over.
I was going to talk about floods and Covid and self-isolating and being apart from family and friends... But you know what? I don't feel like it. I'm sure you're as burned out from world news as I am.
So let's focus on the little - yet meaningful - things, instead.
What are you grateful for? Have you helped anyone lately? Have you treated yourself to anything special? What are you looking forward to? Did you do anything fun this year? Let me know at raeknightly@gmail.com
I'm not sweet-talking when I say that I am sincerely grateful for each and every one of you who is reading this newsletter. There would be no point in me working for hours on end on my stories if you were not there to read them. So, thank you!
1. The Knowledge Seeker
I have a lot of news related to The Knowledge Seeker.
- The book launch:
The Knowledge Seeker published on November 18 and, at first, all I heard were crickets. Honestly, I was worried for a minute! Not one sale, not one review. I thought the book was going to fall into oblivion. But I guess Amazon just needed a bit of time to adjust it's algorithm because, a week later, the book started selling like hot buns.
Today, The Knowledge Seeker has received multiple Amazon bestseller tags. Reader's Favorite has said that the ending was "shockingly unexpected". Those of you who have read the book might agree... :)
- Reviews:
"In our current age of almost anti-science, denial, and misinformation, this is an extremely important book for young readers to learn and appreciate knowledge in all its forms." - READER'S FAVORITE ★★★★★
"This is truly a 5 star book. It reminds me of "A Canticle for Leibowitz" but more contemporary and extremely well written." - Goodreads reviewer ★★★★★
"The main character is intelligent and a very positive role model. I don't usually like 'dystopian' stories but this has some great ideas and warnings about our future. I highly recommend this book." - BookBub reviewer ★★★★★
I couldn't be more thrilled with your comments! Thank you!

What's up in the neighbourhood?
Well, I said I wasn't going to talk about the terrible flooding which happened two weeks ago and which cut off half of the province of British Columbia from the rest of Canada, so I won't mention that it's pouring right now and new flood warnings are in effect. Also, you don't need to know that milk, butter, eggs and meat have flown off the shelves and that there's a fuel shortage (but there's plenty of toilet paper).
So, yeah, we're fine.
No, really. Me and my family are absolutely fine, but many families have suffered terrible losses and many farm animals have perished in the area next to Chilliwack (where Ben Archer lives). People are joining forces and doing their best to help out, but we're all yearning for better times.
No images this time. You'll probably see the news. 😔
December 2021 reading list
The Clashing Of Our Worlds (The Summer Triangle Trilogy) by Lindy Allison
Exoplanet hopping to rescue aliens takes ingenuity but can you find your way home?
Jas, the astronomy geek and artsy, Gloria, clash when the Pans’ tribe refuses to defend themselves. Now instead of one fearsome foe, they face three. Without weapons. The teens must use their wits and gifts if they hope to save the Pans and finally go home.
Readers have compared The Summer Triangle Trilogy to Stranger Things and A Wrinkle in Time.
Quiet on Set! (Milligan Creek) by Kevin Miller
To celebrate their purchase of the old movie theater in Milligan Creek, the new owners launch a short film contest, complete with a chance to have the winning films screened at the theater’s grand reopening. When word leaks out that a real Hollywood movie will be filming nearby, Matt and Chad Taylor and their best friends, Andrew and Dean, concoct an outrageous plan to make their short film the most spectacular of all by secretly taking advantage of everything the big-budget movie production has to offer, but only if they can pull it off without getting caught!
Fourth Earth: A YA Fantasy Adventure to the planet of Mythical Creatures (Arch Mage Series Book 4) by Cami Murdock Jensen
A shattered prophecy. A siren queen ravaged by insanity. Can a courageous young woman unite warring factions before the universe is enslaved?
Agnes Anne Cavanaugh desperately seeks to bring peace to her friend's beloved Fourth Earth. But with magic dwindling from the planet, she scrambles to convince rival contingents to put down their weapons. And when her powerful boyfriend's magic mysteriously fades, he slips into a depression. While he keeps saying nothing’s wrong, she’s supposed to not worry about him and still stop certain planetary doom?
To make matters worse, Sharir the Endless, master to the previously defeated dragon of manipulation, is enraged by her prior success. The time for subtlety is past and he joins the fray himself, devastating the lives of billions.
Destiny can take many paths, but only one leads to peace. A single mistake and Agnes will fail to stop Sharir from enslaving the universe, losing all that is dear to her.
Fourth Earth is Book Four in the Arch Mage epic YA fantasy series that readers can’t put down. If you like magical creatures, incredible worlds, exhilarating adventures, and journeys of epic proportions, you’ll love this enthralling story.
I wish you all the best for the end of the year. See you in 2022!
