NEWS41 Short but meaningful

Dear ,
This newsletter is short but meaningful.
I am spending quality time with my parents that I hadn't seen since before the pandemic began.
They live in Antwerp, Belgium, where the world famous painter Peter Paul Rubens lived and worked in the 1500s. The name "Antwerpen" comes from the Flemish words hand werpen - to throw the hand. The mythical Roman soldier, Brabo, is said to have cut off the hand of an evil giant, Druon Antigoon, and thrown it into the river. You can follow me on Facebook and Instagram where I'm posting lots more pictures.
Ben Archer and the World Beyond is a FINALIST in the 2022 Whistler Independent Book Awards!
In my last newsletter, I announced that The World Beyond was shortlisted in the 2022 Whistler Independent Book Awards and that the finalists would be announced on July 15th. Well, we made it to the next round and that means that WE'RE GOING TO WHISTLER in October to find out who the winner is! I say "we" because I hope you'll join me through social media on this exciting trip. No matter who the winner turns out to be, this is going to be a fun and exciting event and I'm honored that Ben Archer has made it this far!
Writing news
My editor, Cristy Watson, is giving me lots of feedback on the first drafts of The Lost Space Treasure and Exostar, and this vacation is the perfect time for me to be mulling over major improvements for the second drafts.
