Dear ,

This is not a very good newsletter.

"Why?" you ask (and also, "How dare you!").

Well, I think you will pardon my not-very-good newsletter because I'm focused on writing, writing, writing. I mean, that's basically the whole reason you're here, right? You want new books. So, I'm going to give you new books. And that means I'm busy, busy, busy.

Also, I'm amazed to see the wonderful graduation pictures that are being posted on social media from the US. And while I rejoice with all you youngsters who are now heading towards your brand new lives, here in British Columbia, most schools continue on until the end of June. So while you're sunbathing on some warm beach in Florida, please send a kind thought to us poor Canadian souls who will be sweating through the next three weeks of parent-teacher meetings, homework, exams, emptying out desks and lockers, attending end-of-school activities, graduation, parties, etc.

Do you have a favourite memory of your graduation? Let me know at raeknightly@gmail.com (Honestly, I don't remember anything memorable from my graduation, but a piece of paper says I passed my exams, so there's that.)

And, lastly, my mind has been insanely occupied by Ben Archer, who has dumped a truckload of adventures into my brain and forced me to write long plots, even though I never asked for them. Now I don't know what to do with them because I won't be able to get to them in a long while and also, because I don't know if readers would be interested. Stay tuned because we will need to have a serious conversation about this, someday.

MEGASTAR

Last month, I revealed the book cover for MEGASTAR, Book 2 in The Lost Space Treasure Series (coming Nov. 15th). You'll be happy to know that this week I'm sending the first draft to my editor, Cristy Watson.

Then its on to book 3, which will be called *whisper, whisper, something-or-other, you'll-never-guess* (Whoa! One thing at a time, people!). I can't leave Trin Moonrise hanging in the desperate situation she's in, so her story requires me to move onwards and forwards across the Magnus Star Cluster at lightning speed!

What's up in the neighbourhood?

Aside from writing and helping my children prepare for their last weeks of school, I'm experimenting with my garden. The weather is beautiful, new plants are in the ground and flowers are blooming. Fingers crossed I'll get some veggies this year, though my neighbour asked me to take care of one of his plants while he was away on vacation, and that didn't go too well. I may need to buy him a new plant. Veggie update coming next month. What about you? Do you enjoy gardening?
