I come to you with a very important question: how do you feel about pet names in books?

You know what I'm talking about--baby, honey, sweetheart, darling, love.

I usually refrain from reading my own reviews, just for my own mental health and because I know they were written for other readers, not me. But I love reading the reviews of other books I've read.

When I find a review that aligns with my own thoughts about some aspect of the book, I feel like I'm in conversation with that reviewer--like I've been to book club without having to, you know, show up somewhere and talk to people. It makes my little introverted heart sing.

Sometimes reviewers complain about the pet names used in books, and I'm fascinated every time.

What's your camp?

What I'm reading

I'm deep in the writing and editing trenches this week, and also, my personal life is chaos. So, I haven't been able to read much, aside from getting a peek at the early drafts of some other authors' works in progress, which is SO exciting. When those books are available I'll be sure to share them with you.

What I'm writing

I have been getting Night & Day ready for its March 25 release, including a final revision before it goes out to ARC readers, hopefully on Friday! ARC stands for advanced reader copies, and they're free books that go out prior to release day so that the book will have some reviews when it launches.
