We hit another list milestone! Every time the list size doubles, a horse gets a treat. So, thanks to you, my boy horse got a handful of carrots! See for yourself! A few fun facts about boy horse: he's a thirteen-year-old paint gelding, and I've owned him since he was an untrained two-year-old. We've gone on a lot of adventures and seen a lot of sights together. But as the video shows, even though we're buds, the terms of our relationship don't include voluntary face pets... I tried to sneak one in right after he grabbed the last carrot, but he instantly evaded me. Sigh. I guess every great love requires compromises.

Boy horse isn't my one and only. I also have girl horse, a seven-year-old mare with the opposite personality to boy horse. I have to watch my toes around her because she never thinks she's close enough to me. Her dearest wish would be for someone to shrink her to lapdog size so that she could get the full-body cuddles she craves. Girl horse might make an on-camera appearance the next time we double the list! So, tell your friends. ;)

Writing stuff

I'm working on several projects at once, which isn't my usual process and tends to be less productive for me. But it's definitely keeping things interesting! In addition to Undertow, I'm also writing two shorter works this month. One is set in the Tangled Leash universe (like Jaywalking and Sleepwalker), and I intend to make that available for free. I'll be sure to let you know where and when that happens! The other has a confidential destiny that I'm excited to reveal in a couple of months. It's a contemporary MM romance with an age gap (shocking, right?) and it includes some of my favorite tropes: best friend's brother; childhood crushes; emotional hurt/comfort; getting trapped in the snow; only one bed!; jealousy; pining. Needless to say, I'm having so much fun writing it and I think you'll love it too. It will either be a single full-length book or possibly a duet (two book series) in its final form. I'm shooting for a January release, but ARCs will be ready well before that and I'll be offering those to you first!

What I’m reading

I listened to the audio book of Ziggy, Stardust and Me by James Brandon this week. It consumed me! What a special piece of YA fiction.
