Hey, amazing humans!

Hello out there! I don't know about where you are, but summer rolled in with a vengeance in the midwest USA. Today was our first day with something of a respite, but the grass is dry and sad and my air conditioner is tired from working overtime.

I got so many really helpful responses to my cry into the void about the details of roadside motels in the 1970s. Have I told you lately that you're amazing? Once in three paragraphs just isn't enough. <3

I also heard from a couple of you about automated email shenanigans. If you received an email from me that confused you, such as one mentioning you haven't opened emails from me when you know for a fact that you have, then know I'm sorry about it and I'm trying to avoid that type of erroneous message in the future.

What I'm reading

I'm rewarding myself for meeting my writing goal by finally finishing book three in KP Maxwell's rentboy series with a paranormal twist, The Doctor's Mate. I am particular about my paranormal stories, especially the ones with shifters, but I always enjoy KP's books. If you haven't read her work yet, you can start with book one, The Problem Client. (It's on a limited-time sale for just $0.99!)

What I'm writing

I just sent the second, novel-length edition of Jaywalking to the editor!

Any time a book is changed a certain amount, it's required to be released as a distinct version. That means that Jaywalking as you know it will come down from the stores, and the new version will go up with new identifying product information. Sadly, that means that I'll be losing some very kind reviews on the novella version. I wish there was a way around that.

If you read and reviewed Jaywalking before and you'd like to have an advanced copy and consider reviewing it again when it's re-released, then sign up here! If you haven't read the original novella you can still fill out the form. I'm planning to award around thirty copies, and hopefully they'll be ready in about two weeks.
