Writing news and chapter seven of Undertow. <3

Hi, everybody...

I know I usually send out this newsletter on Fridays, but it just wasn’t happening yesterday.

Y’all, it’s been a week. Of course, I don't have to tell you that.

I've taken great comfort in the mild weather that we've been having in my little piece of the world, which has allowed me to spend time outdoors enjoying the last of the falling leaves and golden grass.

What I'm writing

I'm still writing Long Winter, a contemporary MM romance, as fast as I can. Which, this week, hasn't been fast at all! I'm struggling a little with how to describe the project. I don't know if it qualifies as a contemporary western romance, even though it's set in the rural American west; I'm sure it isn't a small-town romance, even though it takes place in one; and I suspect it won't quite meet the expectations of someone looking for a cowboy romance, even though one of the main characters is a rancher, a good horseman, and wears a hat. ;)

🧩 Just for fun—I found an inspiration photo of a very important character in Long Winter. If you want to see, try to beat my time! (1:59)

What I've been reading

I’ve been enjoying the other submissions included in a charity anthology I'm a part of! It's a really fun collection of (mostly straight) paranormal romance and straight-up fantasy stories. If the content isn't queer enough for you, at least the cause is without fault. All proceeds will benefit the Wildlife Disaster Network, which is working with area partners to help wildlife injured by the wildfires in California.

My contribution is Breath of Roses, which is the first installment of my Tales of the Vine series. It's a novella that begins a story best summed up as Sleeping Beauty--in space. Oh, and with MMF romance.

You can learn more, and pre-order the book, here. If you are interested in a free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review, respond to this email to talk about joining my ARC list!

Chapter Seven of Undertow!

I've been sending my mailing list weekly chapters of a new MM fantasy romance, with a title, tropes, and relationship dynamic chosen by subscribers a couple months back! You can find links below to start at the beginning, or pick up the latest installment. I hope it's a pleasant distraction, and either way, I'd love to know what you think about it.
