Hello Romance Readers,
Spring time in Texas is lovely. I think it's my new favorite season. Although I've been told it won't last long before the heat will roll in.
I'm counting down the hours to watch Season 2 of the Bridgerton's. I reread The Viscount Who Loved Me, it's been awhile since I read it and now I'm eager to see how it gets adapted for TV.
Book News
I've been busy both in writing and editing cave.
Dragonblade has Duke of Aces, book 2 of the Ladies of Risk in their hands. I hope to be able to share a preorder or a buy link with you soon. Isadora's story was so much fun to write and research. More details next newsletter. I promise.
I'm working on drafting King takes Queen, book 3 and the final book in the series. If you read An Earl Unmasked, you might have guessed that King takes Queen is Minerva's story.
In order to really understand Minerva, I watched The Queen's Gambit. It gave me excellent insight into how chess players think.
Featured Author of the Month - Amy Quinton
This month our FREE Book is being offered by the funny and extremely talented Amy Quinton
Amy Quinton writes humorous historicals with heat, often from her back porch in Summerville, South Carolina but sometimes with her BFF at the kitchen table. And only when her dog and three cats allow. (She’s guilty of spoiling them horribly.)
She’s susceptible to shiny things, soft things, leather, trips to the thrift store, Whisky, tattoos, witchy things, Bunco with her Bitches, and men in kilts (particularly her husband)-but not necessarily in that order.
She adores her children (most of the time), finds a lot of humor being married to a Brit (usually), cusses (probably more than she should), and loves to read and write romance (always).
When she finds the time, she loves to crochet, knit, and make jewelry. And longs to travel to the UK every chance she gets.
What the Marquess Sees
England 1814
Cold. Ruthless. Fast. Confident.
It’s what they all say about Lady Beatryce Beckett. And they’re right, to some extent. She’ll do anything to get what she wants. She has reasons. And she has no regrets.
But to find herself under the protection and command of the Marquess of Dansbury is the worst. It’s intolerable, despite the particular pleasure she takes in provoking him. Despite the deadly assassins after them.
Lord, save her from charming, heroic men… Especially ones that make her feel dangerous, possessive, hot…
Strong. Charismatic. Amiable. Optimistic.
It’s what they all say about the Marquess of Dansbury. And it’s all true. It’s what makes him an excellent Agent for the Crown, a duty at which he excels and enjoys.
Until now. When he finds himself tasked with protecting the one woman in the world he actively disdains: Lady Beatryce Beckett, a deceitful witch who manages to bring out the worst in him with shrewd precision.
Lord save him a woman like her. A woman who makes him feel irrational, savage, ablaze…
A woman who has:
Fire beneath her ice.
Honor beneath her deceit.
And a fearlessness that is infuckingtolerable to a man who is falling in love…
