Instagram LogoResume Writing 101 ? No matter when you last refreshed your resume, thinking about doing it again can be pretty daunting and likely makes you want to scream. ? It’s safe to say I don’t think I have met anyone who enjoys the process of writing resumes for themselves. For that simple reason, here are a few quick tips to help you get started: 1️⃣ Use reverse chronological order for your jobs Start with your most recent job and work your way backwards. This allows the hiring manager to know what your most current role was/is right off the bat. 2️⃣ Only go back 10 -15 years of applicable jobs If you’ve been in your career for 10+ years, try not to add jobs that are not applicable to what you are currently applying for. If all your jobs are applicable, only go back 10-15 years. 3️⃣ Match your cover letter to your resume Make sure that the layout of your cover letter matches your resume. The easiest way to do this is to use the same header and the same fonts. 4️⃣ Keep it 2 pages max The reader of your resume is not going to spend much time on it. If your resume is too long, they won’t read it. Keep it short and concise. 5️⃣ Correctly name your files Nowadays you are likely sending your resume online. Each application you send should have it’s own file with the name of the company in it and your name. Use these tips to help when you update your resume next. ? Comment below any questions you have on resume writing.?? #resumebuilding #resumetemplate #resumebuilder #resumeservices #resumehelp #resumedesign #resume #mississaugalife #torontolife #haltonregion #ihatemyjob #jobsearching #jobsearchtips #overcomefear #careersuccess #jobopportunities #workflow #hustleharder #youcandoit #jobhunt #jobseekers #rockyourconfidence #fiveyearplan #sharewhatyouknow #selfdevelopmentjunkie #jobsearchadvice #careerstrategy #accountabilityiskey #momprenuers #newcareer
