How To Remember Anything

Jan 17, 2024 3:00 pm

Hi ,

I understand that, like me, many of you have a long list of learning projects and are seeking efficient ways to absorb more knowledge in a limited time. We're all on this continuous learning journey together. You know That I am your number (one) 1 and always looking for ways to help you succeed. That's why I am resharing this message I received from Sir John Obidi (you can check him out on social media and follow him). It resonated deeply with me. He shared some valuable tips on optimizing our learning processes and making the most of our time.

You can start reading below 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

I’ve got an incredible memory, even if I say so myself.

However, through personal experiments over the years, I learned to growth-hack it even more to add value to my teaching ability, in a way that doesn't involve eating a ton of walnuts.

Yeah, walnuts and cashews are said to be brain food, but this is not about those.

I’ll teach you just two of my methods here.

Method One

When you read something interesting that you’d like to remember, stay on that thought and then pretend like you’re explaining it to a 5 year old.

It would force you to flesh out this thought that you just learned a few minutes ago and persuasively narrate your own spin with examples and colorful figures of speech.

You will begin to get original mental downloads that would be aligned and/or tangential to the original thought.

I don’t know how it works, only that it does. I’m not a psychologist.

For bonus points, combine this step with Binaural Beats explained below in Method Two.

Method Two

This one might require you to get a bit technical.

It involves auditory stimulation, that is, boosting memory through sound or retaining what you hear.

Sometimes, I hear something noteworthy, either an IG Reel or a TikTok, that I’d like to internalize and hand over to my subconscious mind for expatiation.

First, download the video to your device. Google the how.

Now the follow-up step requires some explanation so just put a bookmark right here.

We will return to it.

Next, you’re going to find a binaural sound that specializes in memory retention.

I sent you a previous newsletter issue some years ago where I explained Binaural Beats.

I’ll do it again here.

Binaural beats involve playing two slightly different frequencies in each ear.

The brain then perceives a third tone based on the mathematical difference between the two frequencies.

These beats are widely used in psychotherapy and are believed to induce various mental states and effects depending on the frequency range.

So we have:

- Delta Waves for deep sleep

- Theta Waves for relaxation, reduced anxiety and creativity

- Alpha Waves for super learning and positive thinking

- Beta Waves for active thinking, concentration, cognition, problem-solving

- Gamma Waves for high-level information processing and cognitive enhancement

Here, we are solely concerned with Gamma Waves because we need to get you in the zone.

Get on YouTube and search for a good Gamma Wave beat and download it.

To save you the stress, try this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4YghVcjbpw

Download it (Google how).

Remember the reel or tiktok you downloaded earlier? The part I asked you to bookmark and we'd return to?

Fetch.

Now use a tool like Capcut to combine both into one audio.

The result would be the speaker’s voice and the Gamma Beat as the background audio.

Listen on repeat, with noise canceling headphones and no distractions.

Yeah, regular speakers won’t work. Remember, it's Binaural.

You need to hear the two separate tones in either ear simultaneously.

Have a pen and writing pad nearby because after a while, you might receive an avalanche of creative downloads.

This process is called Brain Entrainment.

Don’t take my word for it. Research it when you get the time.

If you’re too busy to do this yourself, let me know so that I can create a focus/creative session on Zoom and invite you to the party.

P.S: Don’t forget to help a friend get ahead this new year by inviting them to the Free masterclass
