Hello! I'm running behind today, but I have a few things to share with you. I risked coffee burns, a food explosion in the microwave, and a fall down the stairs to email you this morning. It's not so dramatic as all that, but seriously, I hope the rest of the day goes better than the start.

Dear Diary,
Why does life have to be so complicated? Sure, I'm innocent, but I'm not as pure as the driven snow. I read plenty and soak up every word Octavia, Simone, and Peyton say when we meet for morning coffee. They're so worldly-wise, going after what they want. I wish I were as brazen and bold as they are.
But I get so nervous when I try to flirt with Luca. My palms and pits sweat. Then I worry that all that sweat makes me smell. I'm not smelly. I shower and use deodorant, but perfume gives me a headache, so I never wear the stuff. But I love vanilla candles. They are my fave. Oh, or maybe Christmas cookie or gingerbread-scented candles during the holidays.
I love the holidays. Almost as much as Luca Martin. He doesn't think about me the way I think about him. There's no way he possibly could. He's tall and handsome. If I were brave enough, I'd tell him so, but he'd probably deny it. He's so modest.
He treats me like a porcelain doll. Always lifting heavy boxes, changing lightbulbs, and making deliveries in his truck. Luca says his job is to make things easier for me and our boss, Erin. Erin's got a special someone who adores her. I wish Luca looked at me the way Ashe looks at Erin.
If I could figure out how to show Luca the woman I am inside, I just know we'd be good together. I just need a plan.
