the sun has arrived and I'm stuck inside

Does anyone else get sick the second the weather starts turning nice? Just me? Cool.
Once again, I was supposed to send this newsletter out yesterday and it’s a day late. You should probably be glad I didn’t try to write this yesterday though, my brain was working at about 40% capacity so who knows what kind of garbage I would have sent you! But it was a great excuse to stay in bed and read all day. I'll share what I’m reading at the end of this email.
What’s New
Face to Face releases in just 9 days! I can’t wait for you guys to read this one. Katy’s story has been tugging at me since I finished Head to Head and I’m so excited to finally get it out into the world. Also, I think this is my favorite cover so far, isn’t it just gorgeous?!
Have you added it to your Goodreads yet? If I can get 25 people to add it to their “Want to Read” by Friday, April 23, I’ll be posting chapter 1 in my Facebook Group on Saturday April 24!
What’s Next
Let’s see, it’s been about 2 weeks since I wrote “The End” on Heart to Heart. I have to admit, I’m still not quite ready to let go of my little squad. I’ve been asked (told? Threatened with dismemberment if I chicken out? Take your pick, they're all true!) to write a short story for an anthology coming out this summer which was a great excuse to write a little moment in these characters' lives that takes place between the last chapter of Heart to Heart and it’s epilogue. You’ll see what I mean when you read it.
Outside the world of On Pointe, my brain is turning over ideas for my next series. I won’t tease you too much, but I’m really excited about it! If you like fairy tale retellings but are tired of the same few stories being used, you’re gonna be excited about this series!
Looking For Something New?
Fairytale retellings are my catnip. So since I was sick in bed all day, what else would I read? I finally had a chance to get started on this series by Lucy Tempest and I am LOVING it! I finished Thief of Cahraman last night and am ready to dive into Prince of Cahraman today!
This book by D.J. Hawkins looks intriguing and is going on my TBR pile!
Savannah has one goal in life and that's to make it to high school graduation. Seems simple enough, but the demons in her head make it near impossible to think about the future. They know she's yearning for something that's nowhere near her grasp, and she's been holding on with the hopes of some day reaching it. But it's becoming harder to hold on and all she wants is to let go.
Aryn considers himself to be a special breed of monster and is constantly confronting the aftermath of one fatal mistake. He has no idea where he's headed, but he's more afraid of the past than he is of the future. The only thing he yearns for is to forget. That is, until he meets Savannah.
Their story is one of chaos, anger, first love, and healing as they try to save one another from themselves. But you know how it goes: you can't save anyone who doesn't want to be saved.
And so does this free book magnet from Savannah Dalessandro (even if math is DEFINITELY NOT in my skill set!)
Sixteen-year old Lexi Thompson believes she should’ve died in the car accident that took her parents. Now she slices her guilt into her skin, aggravating an already dangerous cutting habit. When Lexi is contacted about her parents’ lost proof of a famous math theorem, her guilt over her parents’ deaths intensifies. Math was her parents’ passion as well as her own.
Lexi enlists her friend and fellow math whiz, Joe, to help find the proof. As their relationship deepens, Lexi struggles to keep her self-harm secret. Further, she realizes she’s not the only one interested in her parents’ proof. A mysterious man hangs around her family’s vacant home and lurks in the woods where she runs with her dog. The stalker's presence exacerbates her anxiety, along with the frequency and severity of her cutting. The more she tries to conceal her self-harm, the more she pulls away from Joe and from finding the proof.
If she can’t let go of her fear and open up to Joe, she may lose him as well as the proof to a man who’s intent on stealing her parents’ legacy.
Stay amazing!
