So…..Maybe you’re thinking “gosh, Penelope why didn’t I hear from you two weeks ago?” Long story short, I plain forgot to send my newsletter. I know, I know, we’re all so very disappointed. You don’t have to humor me, lol.

In my defense, I was nose deep in edits to get Heart to Heart ready for you at the end of this month, so I’m hoping you’ll think it was worth it and forgive me.

What’s New?

A year ago I hadn’t even published a single book, and now I’m wrapping up my first series. How did this happen? It’s been a wild ride, from the kernel of an idea back in 2014 to now. I never imagined I would finish a series like this, but now I can’t imagine not knowing what happens to these characters!

What’s Next?

I’ve got a few things in the works right now, mostly I’m planning and researching for my next series, releasing late Summer 2021! I. Am. So. Excited!

What’s my next series going to be about?

It’s still under wraps, but I’m hoping you’re going to think it’s as cool as I do. I mean, I’m a pretty big nerd so what I think is cool is pretty, uh, not cool in general...but you signed up for this list so I'm hoping you’re on board with me. And to answer your question— no it will not be about aspiring ballerinas, but yes there is a ballet element to it. That’s all I’m going to say for now ;)

My author friend Stephanie Scott just released this fun summer read TODAY! Happy Release day Stephanie!! I don't know about you, but I can't wait to read this:

Sometimes being the good girl means everyone loses.

When my parents sentenced me to geriatric exile in a sleepy beach town for the summer with my grandparents, I tried everything to stop it. I’m the good girl. The straight-A student and the newly elected co-captain of my high school track team. Only my sister Grace ruined everything. Grace, a rebel with a party girl reputation, insisted I join her at a party on her graduation night. All to be her designated driver. Too bad I only had a learner’s permit—and crashed her car. Oops.

Now, I’m in deep trouble with my parents and the court. My punishment means I’m trading team runs for scrubbing toilets at my grandparents’ Lake Michigan coastal inn. Any free time is used up working service hours at the local community center to show the court I deserve a driver’s license.

Then I meet Will. He’s cooler than I could ever hope to be with dyed black hair and piercings. He finds me on the beach and we talk through sunset. I need a friend right now and Will is here, listening. Only he’s a bad boy and that spells trouble.

But Will isn’t as he seems. His bad boy image hides deep hurts I’m only beginning to uncover. Time with Will feels like an escape. I might actually make it through this summer.

The trouble is, I’m falling for Will, and I have secrets of my own. If Will finds out what really happened the night of the party, we’ll lose everything we’ve built.

Sunset Summer is a young adult summer job romance and the second book in the Love on Summer Break series.

I LOVE a fairytale retelling (hint, hint) and Kenley Davidson never disappoints! (I won't lie- I was intrigued by the title of the 3rd book in this series which is why I picked it up)

She has one job—attend a masqued ball and dance with a handsome prince.

What could possibly go wrong?

Everything, that’s what.

After years of submitting to her stepmother’s unreasonable demands, Trystan finally has a chance to be free. The promise of a new life, in exchange for her help. Simple, right? After all, the old woman has only asked for one night. One night, one beautiful gown, one dance… and one message to be delivered to a mysterious recipient.

It should be easy. Maybe even fun. Especially when she can slip away into the night after the dance, leaving no clue as to her identity.

But before she can escape the ball, Trystan makes a shocking discovery that leaves all her hopes in ruins. She will be forced to confront two very different princes—and choose whether to betray her kingdom… or her heart.

If she’s lucky, maybe she’ll even survive to tell about it later.

A thrilling, suspenseful retelling of Cinderella, Traitor’s Masque is the first book of the Andari Chronicles, a series of interconnected but stand-alone fairy tale retellings that feature strong heroines, romance, mystery, and deeply satisfying happily ever afters.

You know what's even better than a fantasy fairytale retelling? A contemporary retelling (hint, hint, hint) I love Yesenia's books, and love the way she weaves a story of solid friendships and girls helping each other through more than just "boy troubles" through this series.

Ella’s only friend (and crush) lives on the other side of her phone’s screen. She and Baller929 know everything about each other.

Except their real names.

When they have a chance to meet at the school dance, Ella must decide: is revealing her identity to Baller929 worth the risk?

Is this her chance at something more than friendship? Or will Baller929 ditch her when he finds out that Ella’s the geeky girl at the bottom of the totem pole?

This is the Cinderella fairytale you know and love... set in high school with 4 quirky best friends, an anonymous Prince Charming, and a fairy godmother you'll never expect. Start this binge-worthy YA series today!

Stay amazing!
