When was the last time you had pure fun? ... and bonus video taming your Inner Critic

Hi ,

When was the last time, you took time to do something for yourself?

Something that brought pure joy and fun in your life?

Something new or different from your routine?

We often think of play for children. But making time for play is so important for US too. So much research shows that when we are able to laugh and have simple fun, our stress is reduced and our weelbing and happiness increased.

I never wear make up but took 20 minutes yesterday to try on lots of lipsticks and bring a bit more colour in my life. I had way more fun than I thought I would have.

When I work with clients, one of the first thing we usually do is to look at blocking out time for a play date.

Not a get kids and parents together play date. A time when you go and have fun by yourself to do somehing new. Reconnecting with your inner child that wants to have fun without worrying, stressing or thinking what is needed to make dinner.

It is the best way to reconnect with yourself. Remembering who you are or discovering the real YOU that has been hiding for too long.

Julia Cameron in the book 'The artist way' describes it as the best way to allow your creative self to come to its full expression. It can also be a fantastic way to discover new places/hobbies/people. We don't have to change our whole life to make a change. Starting with 1 hour or even like me just 20 minutes or even 5 minutes to start with .... stand in the rain, make snow angles or feel the sun on face. Start with easy and simple.

The idea is that you make time to do something new/different/exciting just by yourself, no family or friends. Taking you out of your comfort or your routine to allow yourself to rediscover parts of yourself or discover new ones.

You are amazing and you can start to Become more YOU now!
