The Write Stuff
Greetings reader and writer friends,
Well, summer is certainly underway here. The beautiful days of July encourage swimming and other water related sports. Make sure to take in plenty of fluids and when the day is done, there’s nothing better than settling down with a book. Here are six selections that may pique your interest.
The Sword and the Ring by Wayne Meyers
Can a knight, a warrior, and a feisty runaway return to Greymark before the queen dies?Aimie, a naïve but feisty dreamer struggling to escape the toil of her parents’ tavern, convinces Connell, an honorable Greymark Knight, to escort her on a long journey. Danger confronts them at every turn, from brutal thieves, a ghostly wight, and vicious, blood-thirsty assassins, to irrefutable proof that Mythikal creatures and old magik are real. These are only minor problems compared to what’s brewing back at Greymark, where an army of stone-skinned trolls have enslaved Connell’s people in preparation for a full-scale invasion. Their end game? Human domination—or utter destruction.
Mythikal Magik is a sprawling, epic tale full of everything fantasy lovers enjoy most: magik and mayhem, swords and sorcery, heroes and villains, exotic creatures, and a touch of romance. The Godsfall by Joshua C. Cook

Flight of the Gazebo by Kent Silverhill
Drome isn’t paranoid. The whole world really is out to get him. But that world isn’t Earth. It’s a weird hollow world that his entire village ends up inside after a thaumaturgic accident. To make matters worse, upon arrival Drome gets taken hostage by a pair of scheming imperial courtiers who mistakenly believe he holds the key to riches beyond imagination. Drome escapes into the palace’s sewers, and would still be there if he hadn’t bumped into a living skeleton who leads him out. That fractious relationship reaches breaking point when the fleeing pair are shot at by crossbow-wielding guards, get captured by pirates, and attacked by a posse of murderous hunters. And that’s just for starters. With a host of hostiles after them, finding Drome’s village won’t be easy, seeing as he’s not even sure where it is. But he needs to return and warn the villagers of the troops on their way to wipe out every last one of them. That’s if the guards, the pirates or the hunters - oh, and the wizard Drome upset - don’t kill him and his companion first.
