Some lesser-known pagan themed movies and series for you to watch

In recent years there are quite some movies and series that have come out with something of a pagan theme. A movie like "Midsommar" or a series like "Vikings" get a lot of attention in pagan circles because at least they offer something "pagan-ish".


But besides this handful of well-known productions, there are a lot of lesser known productions based around a (more or less) pagan theme. So this time around, we'd like to share some productions that are worth watching.


Redbad (2018)

"Redbad" is a 2018 historical drama film set in the 8th century during the Viking Age. The movie follows the story of Redbad, a young Frisian nobleman, who is forced into exile when his father is killed in battle. Redbad seeks refuge with the Vikings but later decides to return to his homeland to challenge the oppressive rule of the Franks. The film portrays his efforts to unite the Frisian tribes against the Frankish empire, with themes of loyalty, courage, and resistance against tyranny.

Valhalla (2019)

The two children Røskva and Tjalfe embark on an adventurous journey to Valhalla with the two gods Thor and Loki. However, the peace of Valhalla is threatened by the monstrous Fenris wolf and the dreaded giants, the Jotnar. Together with the gods, the two young humans take on the fight to save Valhalla from the end of the world – Ragnarok.
