OPIN Insider

Welcome back to the OPIN insider!

April has been full of news from NFT’s becoming more popular than ever, New Zealand raising its minimum wage to $20 an hour, a sealed copy of Super Mario Bros. selling at auction for $660,000 to the new Top Gun sequel being delayed for the millionth time (sorry to you super fans out there) which could only just be me…but I digress.

Without further ado, let’s check out some Drupal news!

What’s New in Drupal?

It seems like just yesterday Drupal 9 was being released. Time sure does fly because we are approaching the highly anticipated Drupal 10 release!

The team at Drupal is working on the new D10 strategic initiative. The goal of the Drupal 10 initiative is to release Drupal 10 in 2022, providing adequate time to update sites while keeping Drupal secure and up to date.

The initiative's main priorities are:

  1. Identify tasks to be done for Drupal 10's release, focusing on updating dependencies and removing deprecated APIs
  2. Encourage and help contributed module maintainers to move along and keep modules updated
  3. Release ideally in summer 2022 or if that turns out to not be feasible, December 2022 at the latest
