Happy Thursday, friends! I know I'm off my usual Tuesday rhythm, but figured an update was better than radio silence 📻

We the Change Fund Update: The Pot's on the Stove 🔥
Great news on validation front: My assumptions are proving true (even when the reasons are terrible).
What's working:
- Current political climate IS activating values-aligned dollars
- Many in and around the B Corp community sees the same opportunity that we do—certification as an investible business asset
- Everyone is waiting for the guinea pig fund that's going to prove the model, and I want that to be WeTheChange!!
Where we stand: The burner's on, the pot's on the stove, but we're not boiling yet. Expecting real momentum next year.
The reality check: We need that catalytic donation—the first big, healthy vote of confidence to unlock everything else. This funds my grant (so I can keep working on this instead of volunteering my time), plus the philanthropic dollars to test our investment thesis and make our first investments.
It's a snowball situation that hasn't started rolling downhill yet.
The Thing We Don't Talk About in Entrepreneurship 💭
Here's something that feels scary to say out loud, but I'm building a new business.
What I know for sure: Same values as my consulting work—empowering underestimated entrepreneurs to access health, freedom, opportunity, and justice through thriving businesses.
My superpower (according to my therapist and people who know me well): I integrate new learning FAST. Therapy breakthrough? I implement it immediately. New business insight? I actualize it quickly. This might be something I can teach.
The missing piece nobody talks about: We focus on skills ✅ and capital ✅, but ignore the third essential element:
In small organizations, the business is only as healthy as its leader is—emotionally and spiritually.
The hard truth: All women and people of color in this country are dealing with trauma (no matter how great your parents were). These "wounds of entrepreneurship" can drive our ambition AND hold us back.
We keep spending money on coaches and consultants without the ROI we expect because we're trying to outsource our learning to avoid the very hard healing part.
If that resonates, you're my people and I want you to be involved in this work. If it doesn't, no problem.
What I'm Looking For 🔍
Entrepreneurs who:
- Recognize their coaching/consulting spend isn't generating expected ROI
- Understand there's a healing component to sustainable success
Partners & collaborators:
- Entrepreneur-serving organizations who see this need
- Investors ready to help get this rolling
- Potential business partners for deep execution involvement
The reality: There's a lot I don't know yet. But the purpose is real, the values are sound, and I believe the need is urgent.
Help Make it Happen! 💫
- Want to see the We the Change Fund happen? Get in touch. I can share documents, walk you through everything. My grant needs funding for this to continue.
- Interested in the entrepreneur healing work? Let's talk. Whether you're validating the idea, want an introduction, or can support this materially—there are many ways to skin this cat.
As always, drop your thoughts, comments, and introductions my way.
That's my soul-bearing Thursday update, friends. Hope everyone's having a great summer!
See you next week!
