If you're interested in your ancient ancestry and have tested at a DNA site, a fun website is My True Ancestry. They compare your DNA to ancient DNA samples from archaelogical digs around the world. They're based in Switzerland and they delete your uploaded DNA file after they process your records. This image shows which ancient populations my DNA most likely comes from.

I'll make a Year in Review book for my husband and a personalized mouse pad or calendar for his mom. But the sale ends Sunday, October 31st so I'll be making these TODAY, right after I send this newsletter, and then making any edits tomorrow morning and placing the order.

23andMe

If you're interested in DNA testing with 23andMe, they have an offer that ends October 31st for their Ancestry & Traits kit for $69 (regularly $99) and their Health and Ancestry Kit for $99 (regularly $199). The feature I like about my 23andMe DNA test is the maternal and paternal haplogroups and information on my ancient ancestry. For DNA cousin matches I prefer AncestryDNA and MyHeritage DNA.

MyHeritage DNA

MyHeritage DNA also has a Halloween sale that ends October 31st. DNA kits for $59 (regularly $79). I've been thrilled with my MyHeritage DNA test. My husband works for MyHeritage (has also worked for Ancestry and FamilySearch so we love all these companies) but MyHeritage has the best DNA tools for comparing matches. I love the Autoclusters tool mentioned in this blog.
