Happy Labor Day weekend!

Happy Friday and Labor Day weekend in the U.S. I hope you get some time off this weekend to do something fun! We're doing yardwork and gardening and watching the U.S. Open--happy to be homebodies right now. And we'll get together with some family...of course.
Our Personal Histories
Just a timely reminder that this weekend would be a GREAT time to document your personal work history or interview an older family member and learn what other family members did for a living. It's sad to wish to know this information after family are deceased and the details are harder to come by. I was going through old videos of my children and found a clip where my father-in-law talked about his summer in Los Angeles. He was nine years old and his parents put him on a bus from Utah to L.A., alone, so he could stay with an aunt and uncle for the summer. What a different world he lived in! If you can afford to hire someone to professionally interview and record stories, check out Legacy Story Project with Todd Hansen.
Legacy Family Tree Webinars
One of the genealogy sites I'm willing to pay for is Legacy Family Tree Webinars. For $50/year you can watch family history webinars from the comfort of your own home, including DNA classes, locality research classes, and genealogy software and research packages. Check out their free webinars to see if it's something you would use. It's now owned by MyHeritage, where my husband works, but I bought their product before MyHeritage purchased them so this isn't just self-promotion. (And I still have to pay for the service.)
New and Updated Listings
I'm still adding New Jersey collections to the website. Soon, I'll create some curated record guides, but for now, I'm adding specific libraries & societies and their genealogy collections. Here's a look at what's new at OnGenealogy.
